Mumbai, March 2: In a landmark announcement made during the Transport Bhavan, Maharashtra Stone Laying Ceremony, Hon\u2019ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis declared that all Maharashtra state border checkposts will be abolished by April 15, 2025.This long-awaited decision comes as a major relief to the transport fraternity of Maharashtra and across the country. The Hon\u2019ble Chief Minister has directed Hon\u2019ble Transport Minister Shri Pratap Sarnaik, MoS Transport Smt. Madhuri Tai Mishal, ACS Transport & Ports Shri Sanjay Sethi, and Transport Commissioner Shri Vivek Bhimanwar to finalize the modalities to ensure smooth implementation of this policy within the given timeline. Furthermore, he assured that BOT projects will be duly compensated by the state government.<\/p>\n

This bold move addresses a long-standing demand of the transport sector, bringing Maharashtra in line with other states that have already abolished border checkposts, such as Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, and Assam.<\/p>\n
