MP\u2019s Bag Print Shines at the World\u2019s Largest Handicraft Fair
\nBhopal: October 17, 2025
\nMadhya Pradesh\u2019s traditional Bag Print captivated visitors at the 60th Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Delhi Fair 2025, held at the India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida (Delhi-NCR). The fair showcased the richness of India\u2019s traditional arts and handicrafts, drawing thousands of buyers, designers, and entrepreneurs from India and abroad. Organised by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), it is recognised as one of the world\u2019s largest B2B trade fairs.
\nArtisan Shri Arif Khatri presented the meticulous process and eco-friendly dyeing methods that give Bag Print its distinctive identity. Using wooden blocks to create exquisite patterns on fabric, he showcased the art\u2019s eco-friendly and traditional essence. Many foreign delegates visited his stall to learn about the history, process, and sustainable aspects of the craft. Khatri said that Bag Print is not just an art form but a living symbol of India\u2019s cultural heritage, preserved through natural dyes and age-old methods.
\nThe five-day fair featured over 3,000 Indian manufacturers, exporters and buyers from more than 110 countries, including the USA, France, Spain, Japan, Australia, Germany and the UK. International buyers showed keen interest in Bag Print products and expressed willingness to collaborate for expanding their presence in the global market.
\nHaving received the Geographical Indication (GI) Tag from the Government of India, Bag Print has become a cultural identity of Madhya Pradesh. This art form is not only environmentally sustainable but also a true embodiment of the \u2018Make in India\u2019 initiative. All dyes used in Bag Print are derived entirely from natural sources. The craft is also recognised as the representative product of Dhar district under the \u2018One District One Product (ODOP)\u2019 scheme.
