National Law Institute University, Bhopal organized the Orientation Program and Commencement Day Lecture for newly admitted students

National Law Institute University, Bhopal organized the Orientation Program and Commencement Day Lecture for newly admitted students of B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) and B.Sc.LL.B.(Hons.) Programs on 15 July 2024. The NLIU, Bhopal has invited Prof (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, Former Vice Chancellor, NLU, Delhi to deliver the Commencement Day Lecture at 10:30 am on 15.07.2024 in the Justice J.S. Verma Convention Centre of the University.
The program began with the Rashtra Gaan and the lighting of the lamp. Prof. (Dr.) S. Surya Prakash, Vice-Chancellor, NLIU, Bhopal welcomed the newly admitted students, and their parents and elaborated on the robust infrastructure, learning, and teaching environment at NLIU.
Prof. (Dr.) S. Surya Prakash motivated the newly admitted students by sharing the success stories of NLIU students getting placed in top law firms, and getting selected as judicial officers, civil servants. He emphasized the role of the NLIU in shaping the personalities and inculcating values in the students which are instrumental in contributing to their success and stressed the importance of hard work. He also highlighted the institution’s excellent placement records and explained the importance of effective planning.
Prof. (Dr.) S. Surya Prakash discussed the role of the teacher as rain which does not discriminate against anyone. He mentioned that NLIU has students from all over India and all the students are equally important to us and we have high hopes for them. He concluded by saying that teachers are like ladders leading students to excel heights in their careers.
Prof (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, Former Vice Chancellor, NLU, Delhi delivered the Commencement Day Lecture. Prof (Dr.) Ranbir Singh has shared with newly admitted students about his own journey and his vast experience as a teacher, institution builder, and vice-chancellor for more than two decades. Prof. Singh motivated the students on their journey from ordinary to extraordinary. He mentioned that taking admission in Law Course by choice is the first step in path of becoming extraordinary because earlier people used to go to law courses by chance. He explained the importance of the role of the students in making any Law School as prominent in its excellence. He elaborated that it is the success of the students that makes any law school successful in its endeavors. He explained the role of the law school in producing quality research and training good researchers. He further highlighted the role of the Legal Aid Clinics in nurturing purposive lawyers. He quoted Michael Angelo as saying that he did not produce fine sculptures from stone. A fine sculpture is already there and he just chisels it out. So does the role of the teacher and the Vice-Chancellor is in Law School.

Prof. (Dr.) Atul Kumar Pandey, Dean, Undergraduate Studies introduced the faculty members to the newly admitted students. Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Dean, Post-Graduate Studies highlighted the learning method used at NLIU to the newly admitted students.
Prof. (Dr.) Uday Pratap Singh, the Chief Warden, NLIU has shared insights about the Hostel Rules to the newly admitted students. Prof. (Dr.) Raka Arya, Dean Students Welfare oriented the students about the discipline rules and students’ activities.
Prof. (Dr.) Bir Pal Singh, Director, Online and Distance Learning Programs highlighted the importance of distance learning and made aware the newly admitted students about the new courses being launched in distance learning at NLIU. Dr. Padma Singh, Faculty In-Charge, Moot Court Association, highlighted the important role of Moot Court in legal education she also mentioned various laurels in Moot Courts being won by the NLIU students in previous years. Lt. Col. Manish Bahuguna, Controller of Examination illustrated the scheme of examination at NLIU to newly admitted students. Mr. Mohit Gupta, Assistant Librarian introduced various library facilities at NLIU to the newly admitted students. Ms. Tanishka Israni, Academic Counsellor and Clinical Psychologist highlighted the role of career guidance and counselling to the newly admitted students. Dr. Baljeet Singh, Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sports, highlighted the various sports facilities available at NLIU campus to newly admitted students. Shri Vivek Bakshi, Registrar, NLIU introduced administrative staff and conveyed his vote of thanks.
