CII Madhya Pradesh Hosts Members’ Meet with Dr. Suchitra K Ella


Bhopal: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Madhya Pradesh, organized a Members’ Meet with Dr. Suchitra K Ella, Vice President, CII, and Co-founder & Managing Director, Bharat Biotech International Limited, in the presence of Mr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, Chairman, CII Madhya Pradesh and Director, AISECT Ltd, and Mr. Saurabh Singh Mehta, Vice Chairman, CII Madhya Pradesh and Director, Kriti Nutrients Pvt. Ltd. The session brought together key industry leaders for an engaging discussion on emerging economic trends and industry priorities.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ella highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s emergence as a key growth engine in Central India, driven by its strategic location, diversified economy, and investor-friendly governance, as reflected in its Top Achiever status under the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP 2024). She emphasized the state’s transition towards an innovation-led economy through startups, MSME modernization, Industry 4.0 adoption, and expansion of IT & ITeS, supported by a strong talent ecosystem.
Speaking on global economic challenges, particularly the ongoing West Asia crisis, Dr. Ella outlined CII’s 12-point industry agenda. While outlining these points, she urged businesses to strengthen supply chain resilience, build strategic reserves, accelerate energy transition, adopt technology-driven solutions, and extend support to MSMEs through improved payment cycles and collaboration.
She further shared key policy recommendations made by Cll to support industry, including the introduction of a conflict-linked Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS), temporary relief measures for MSMEs and exporters, enhanced access to working capital, concessional lending support, and expedited clearance of GST refunds and trade receivables.
Highlighting CII’s legacy of over 130 years, Dr. Ella reiterated its critical role as a developmental institution A strong bridge between industry and government, contributing to major reforms and enabling a conducive business environment through continuous policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement.
During the interactive Q&A session, members engaged in a thought-provoking discussion on strengthening industry-academia collaboration. Speaking about enabling local engineering institutions to move towards practical, problem-solving approaches, Dr. Ella emphasized the importance of partnerships with leading institutions for mentorship and guidance, along with stronger industry linkages. She also highlighted the need for institutions to identify their core strengths and develop specialized clusters to deliver measurable, industry-relevant outcomes.
Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, Chairman, CII Madhya Pradesh, said that such dialogue platforms act as a strong bridge between industry, academia, and policymaking. He highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a hub of industrial opportunities, and such interactions will further accelerate innovation, investment, and skill-driven growth in the state. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from industry members and provided a valuable platform for dialogue, collaboration, and sharing of actionable insights.
