NIFT Bhopal Hosts Hindi Workshop on Leveraging AI for Official Language Communication and Multilingual Translation

Embracing the rapid advancements in information technology, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bhopal, organized its quarterly Hindi Workshop for the April–June 2026 cycle today. The session commenced at 4:00 PM in Seminar hall at the NIFT Bhopal campus.
The workshop was attended by all officers, faculty members, and staff of the institute, highlighting NIFT’s commitment to integrating modern technology with official administrative frameworks.
The central theme of this quarter’s workshop was “Appropriate Methods for Exchanging Ideas in the Official Language using AI”. The session focused heavily on how artificial intelligence can eliminate linguistic barriers, optimize government workflows, and promote the seamless use of Hindi in day-to-day public sector administration.
Expert Insights on AI in the Government Sector
The institute invited Shri Sanjay Tripathi, the esteemed Secretary of the Official Language Implementation Committee at the National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal, as the guest speaker. Director Akhil Sahai welcomed the guest with presenting a sapling.
Shri Tripathi delivered a comprehensive presentation on how the Government of India is actively pivoting toward digital ecosystems to implement Rajbhasha policies. He demonstrated how AI tools can maintain the sanctity, grammar, and formal tone of official correspondence while drastically reducing translation turnaround times.
Focus on Multilingual AI Tools for Public Administration
During the workshop, practical demonstrations were conducted showcasing pioneering AI translation and productivity tools currently revolutionizing the government and public sectors:
Anuvadini & Bhashini AI: The workshop highlighted the ecosystem of “Anuvadini” (the AI-based translation tool developed by AICTE/Ministry of Education) and Bhashini (India’s National Language Translation Mission platform). These homegrown AI models enable real-time, highly accurate speech-to-text and document translation across scheduled Indian languages, ensuring policies and educational resources are instantly accessible in the official language.
“Kanthastha”: The deployment of Kanthastha, the translation memory software developed specifically for the Official Language Department, was discussed to show how pre-approved government terminology can be automated for official drafts.
Global Translation Frameworks (DeepL Pro & Google Translate AI):
The speaker outlined how advanced neural machine translation engines like DeepL and Google Cloud Translation AI are being safely utilized within secure boundaries to translate massive corporate, legal, and technical datasets into flawless Rajbhasha formats.
Smart Office Automation:
Tools like Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT Enterprise were featured as essential aids for bilingual drafting, helping administrative staff quickly generate parallel notes, circulars, and meeting minutes in both Hindi and English simultaneously.
The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session where NIFT officers and faculty members discussed implementing these AI translation modules within design pedagogy and administrative documentation. The management of NIFT Bhopal expressed its gratitude to Shri Sanjay Tripathi for providing invaluable guidance on aligning technical innovation with constitutional language implementation goals.
