SGSU Students Undertake Industrial Visit to Parle-G Plant
Students Gain Insights into Production, Quality Control, Packaging, Supply Chain and Logistics
Bhopal: The School of Management at Scope Global Skills University (SGSU), Bhopal, organised an industrial visit to the L.M. Bakers (Parle-G) Plant, Mandideep, on 17 September 2026 for students pursuing BBA and MBA programmes. The visit aimed to familiarise students with the functioning of a large-scale food manufacturing unit and provide them with an opportunity to connect management concepts learned in the classroom with real-world industrial practices.
During the visit, students gained insights into the biscuit manufacturing process, production and operations management, raw material management, quality control, packaging, warehousing, inventory, supply chain and logistics. Through interactions with plant officials, they also learned about the role of technology, teamwork, hygiene, quality standards and efficient operations in large-scale food manufacturing.
The experience was particularly valuable as students had the opportunity to observe the production process firsthand and relate their theoretical management knowledge to actual business operations. The visit also helped them understand various processes involved in the modern FMCG and manufacturing sectors, from production to distribution.
SGSU Chancellor Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi said that meaningful education extends beyond the classroom. Industrial visits provide students with an opportunity to understand how theoretical concepts are implemented in real business and manufacturing environments. Such experiences help students develop the capabilities required to become competent and industry-ready professionals.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Vijay Singh said that industry exposure has an important place in management education. Visits to manufacturing organisations provide students with practical insights into production systems, quality management, technology and managerial processes.
Registrar Dr. Sitesh Sinha said that experiential learning plays an important role in the overall development of students. Such industrial visits strengthen SGSU’s commitment to skill-based and practical education while establishing a stronger connection between academic learning and industry requirements.
Dean Students’ Welfare Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma appreciated the efforts of the School of Management and said that such programmes provide students with valuable exposure to real industrial environments and contribute significantly to their professional development.
The industrial visit was coordinated by Ms. Priyal Nagar, Dr. Manjusha Bhondekar and Dr. Aradhana Tyagi. The School of Management expressed its gratitude to the university administration and the management and staff of L.M. Bakers (Parle-G), Mandideep, for their guidance, cooperation and support in making the visit a meaningful learning experience.
