Paytm Steps Up Fight Against Cybercrime, Holds Awareness Session With Bhopal Police

[5:33 pm, 02/11/2026] Phool Hasan: Bhopal, 2nd November 2026: Conversations around cybercrime usually focus on what customers should watch out for including unknown links, suspicious calls and requests for OTPs. Paytm is adding another layer to that effort by working directly with the police officers who investigate these cases, to speed up the response when complaints come in.
Paytm, One 97 Communications Limited, India’s full stack merchant payments leader, recently took this effort to Bhopal with an interactive cybercrime awareness session for investigating officials. Chaired by Naveen Kumar Choudhary, Superintendent of Police (SP), Special Task Force (STF), Bhopal Police, the session brought together around 50 officials from Bhopal Police, the STF, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Cyber Cell.
As more families in Bhopal and across Madhya Pradesh pay by phone every day, from local shops to utility bills, quick and accurate information has become central to how police handle cybercrime and cyber fraud complaints. The session focused on exactly that. Paytm took investigating officers through how mobile payments work, the key details that matter during an investigation, and how to coordinate with Paytm for timely responses to lawful requests.
Officers also brought operational queries from their own cases, turning the session into an open exchange on how Paytm and investigating agencies can share information more effectively for cybercrime prevention and investigation. Officers who attended welcomed the initiative.
The Bhopal session is part of a series of cybercrime awareness sessions Paytm is conducting with police forces across Indian cities. It is an example of how Paytm is approaching safety beyond the app itself, treating it as a shared responsibility with the police rather than leaving it to technology alone.
