Working with Community” Week Launched at Regional Institute of Education



Bhopal, May 4, 2026: The Regional Institute of Education has commenced its week-long
“Working with Community” programme from May 4 to May 9, 2026, with active participation from
107 B.Ed students and 53 students of the 3 year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed course. The initiative
aims to foster social responsibility, empathy, and real-world engagement among future
educators. The programme was preceded by an orientation session held on April 30, 2026, which was
inaugurated by the Principal Professor S. K. Gupta. During the session, valuable guidance was
provided by senior faculty members, including Prof. N. C. Ojha, Prof. Ratnamala Arya, Dr.
Sanjay kumar Pandagle and Dr. Rashmi Singhai alongwith Other faculty members and
committee Members Dr. Rajesh Kumar, dr. Pradyumn Singh lakhawat, Dr. Kulveer Singh, Dr.
Mahendra Barua, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Dr. Manoj Mandal, Dr. Naru Gopal Dey, and Dr. Nirupma
Srivastava. The programme is being effectively coordinated by the Coordinator of the program
Dr. Pavan Kumar. The first day of field engagement began with motivating words from the Principal, inspiring
students to learn beyond the classroom. Students were then divided into groups and visited
various community institutions, including old age homes, SOS Children’s Villages, Bal Niketan
Trusts, and Government Girls’ Homes. The interactions proved to be deeply enriching, as students engaged with residents and children
through meaningful conversations and activities. Many described the experience as
eye-opening, helping them develop empathy, patience, and a stronger sense of civic
responsibility.
With a meaningful start, participants are now eagerly looking forward to the upcoming days,
anticipating further learning experiences and opportunities to contribute positively to society.
