78th Independence Day Celebrations at NIFT Bhopal

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bhopal, proudly celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The event was a perfect blend of cultural programs, student competitions, and the inauguration of a significant green initiative.
The celebration commenced with the **Flag Hoisting** ceremony, followed by a soulful rendition of **Saraswati Vandana**. Dr. Debjyoy Ganguly, the Campus Academic Coordinator (CAC), then addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech, reflecting on the significance of Independence Day. This was followed by speeches from Mr. Akhil Sahai, the Joint Director, and Lt. Col. Ashish Agarwal, the Director of NIFT Bhopal, both of whom emphasized the importance of freedom and responsibility in today’s world.
The cultural segment of the event included a mesmerizing **Solo Song** performance and an energetic **Group Dance**, showcasing the talent and creativity of NIFT students.
An exciting part of the celebration was the **Logo Making Competition** and **Planter Decoration Competition**. The winners were awarded during the event, and this was followed by the inauguration of the **Van Vatika (Natural Dye Garden)**. The garden, dedicated to sustainable practices, includes plants like onion, harda, and palak, which are essential for natural dyeing processes. This initiative, named “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” also marked the beginning of a **Plantation Drive** aimed at promoting environmental consciousness among the students.
The event concluded with a **Vote of Thanks** delivered by Ms. Nayantara Singh, Student Development Activity Coordinator – SDAC, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to making the day memorable. The celebrations ended on a delightful note with refreshments and a unique moment for everyone to capture memories by taking selfies with the national flag.
The event was a true reflection of NIFT Bhopal’s commitment to not only academic excellence but also to fostering a deep sense of patriotism and environmental stewardship among its students.
