Bhopal13 October . On the occasion of World Standards Day, Bhopal branch office of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) organized ‘Quality Rally 2024’ on Sunday morning. The aim of this rally organized under Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India by BIS Madhya Pradesh was to create awareness and consciousness among consumers about Indian standards and quality.
Mayor Malti Rai flagged off the rally, which began near the Lake View pump house in Shyamala Hills. The participants, hailing from institutions like MANIT, CIPET, Barkatullah University and SIStec, as well as members of the Bhopal Bicycle Riders Group, pledged to prioritize quality in their daily activities. The route took the rally from Lake View Road to Van Vihar, promoting the message of quality standards throughout the city.

*Participants Learn About Quality Standards and BIS Marks*
The rally not only raised awareness but also educated participants about various quality standard marks like the Hallmark for gold and silver, the ISI mark, and the registration mark for electronic products. Information on the BIS Care mobile application, a tool for consumer empowerment, was also shared with participants.
On this occasion, Shri Partha Sarathi Mandal, Director and Head of the Bureau of Indian Standards, Bhopal, led an oath-taking ceremony at the rally, encouraging people of all age groups present at the rally to use and promote BIS Certified products and services. He also honoured Mayor Malti Rai and other dignitaries with traditional shawls and mementos. On this occasion, Principal Director of Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) Sandesh Kumar Jain was present as a special guest. Mountaineer Shri Bhagwan Singh was also present on this occasion.

World Standards Day is celebrated every year on 14 October to honour the efforts of experts who develop standards and to raise awareness about the importance of standards. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is conducting various awareness programmes and events in different districts of Madhya Pradesh to promote quality consciousness in the country.
