MP Budget 2026–27: Urban delivery must now match allocations CREDAI Bhopal
CREDAI Bhopal welcomes Madhya Pradesh Budget 2026–27’s sharper push on urban infrastructure. The allocation for Urban Development & Housing has been placed at ₹21,562 crore up from ₹18,639 crore last year about 16% growth, which is directionally positive for city competitiveness, housing supply and job creation.

The priority now is delivery. PRS data shows Madhya Pradesh’s urban development spending has been relatively lower 2.7% of total expenditure versus the all-state average 3.4%, indicating the need to scale both capacity and execution. PRS also highlights past volatility in housing outcomes versus budget intent making outcome-led implementation critical this year.
For the Bhopal Metropolitan Capital Region, CREDAI Bhopal seeks:
1.a time-bound trunk infrastructure pipeline.
2.a focused capital-area redevelopment package for city zones.
3.predictable approvals + serviced land supply to cut holding costs and improve affordability.
Madhya Pradesh can convert “ease of living” into “ease of earning” by tying urban funding to measurable outputs mobility, services, redevelopment and faster, stable clearances.
