bhopal 8 july.Sudarshan Chakra Corps organised Afforestation Drive at Bhopal Military Station on
08 Jul 2024 by planting over 10,000 saplings with an aim “Together, We can Heal the Earth and Secure a Brighter Future for Generations to come”. The event was attended by Lieutenant General Prit Pal Singh, General Officer Commanding, Mrs Nandita Singh, Zonal President, Army Wives Welfare Association, Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and Other Ranks of Bhopal Military Station. Afforestation plays a crucial role in combating environmental degradation and climate change. These efforts not only mitigate the effects of deforestation but also create green spaces vital for ecological balance. It helps restore biodiversity by providing habitats for various species, improve air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen and also prevents soil erosion by stabilizing the soil with roots. Ultimately, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship through afforestation is essential for a sustainable future of our planet. The effort by the Army in spreading awareness about tree plantation is highly appreciated by the local populace.
