Lt Gen Arvind Chauhan Assumes Command of Sudarshan Chakra Corps

Lieutenant General Arvind Chauhan took over the reins of Sudarshan Chakra Corps from Lieutenant General Prit Pal Singh as the 29th General Officer Commanding.
Lieutenant General Arvind Chauhan was commissioned into the First Gorkha Rifles in June 1991. He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and Indian Military academy, Dehradun. In a career spanning over 34 years, he has tenanted active combat roles at respective stages of command in the Army. The General has a distinguished service profile, having attended various prestigious courses including the Defence services Staff College at Wellington, Higher Command Course at Mhow and the National Defence Course at Delhi. He brings with him vast experience of varied military theatres ranging from high altitude to counter terror operations.
The General has tenanted varied important command, Staff and Instructional appointments to include tenures in various capacities at Divisional, Corps and Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army). His command tenures include command of an Infantry Battalion in High Altitude Area, command of an Infantry Brigade on the Line of Control and command of an Infantry Division in Northern Command. The General has been an Instructor in the Indian Army Training Team in Laos and has also been a Directing Staff in the Young Officer’s Wing at the Infantry School in Mhow.
Prior to taking over command of Sudarshan Chakra Corps, the General Officer was posted in the Chief of Army Staff Secretariat in New Delhi. The General has been awarded the prestigious Yudh Seva Medal for his exemplary service in 2019 and the Sena Medal in 2023. He has also been awarded the Chief of Army Staff Commendation, the General Officer Commanding in Chief Commendation and Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee Commendation for his exemplary dedication and distinguished service.
On assumption of command of the prestigious Sudarshan Chakra Corps, the General Officer extended his warm greetings to all ranks, Veer Naris and Veterans. He exhorted all ranks to continue working relentlessly with the same vigour and enthusiasm towards enhancing functional efficiency and operational effectiveness.
